Modern office building entrance with glass doors at dusk
1 weekend, with zero disruption to Monday operations

Project overview

A complete main entrance upgrade, new aluminium door set and DDA-compliant automation, delivered over a single weekend.

We were appointed to upgrade an ageing entrance whose glass door set and failing floor spring were no longer fit for purpose. The client wanted a modern, efficient and compliant entrance that retained heat better, worked with existing building systems and would stay reliable for years.

We removed the old doors, infilled and levelled the floor voids left by the redundant floor spring, and prepared the area for new flooring. Working alongside the fire alarm and access control contractors, we then designed, supplied and installed a new aluminium door set with a fully DDA-compliant automatic operator.

What we delivered

  • Removal of the old glass door set and floor spring
  • Concrete infill of floor voids, ready for new flooring
  • Integrated with fire alarm and access control systems
  • New aluminium door set for durability, security and thermal efficiency
  • Automatic operator meeting full DDA accessibility requirements
  • Immediate improvement in heat retention
  • Fully tested, commissioned and demonstrated on completion

The challenge

A busy corporate entrance could not be out of action during the working week. The project was planned in detail, with structural fixings, access control and fire alarm interfaces confirmed in advance, so every trade could work in sequence over one weekend.

The outcome

All works were completed over a single weekend, with no disruption to the client’s Monday operations and a cleaner, warmer, fully accessible entrance.
